15 weeks

I was lucky with the morning sickness. It wasn’t too bad. After my operations I’m actually used to feeling sick. The nausea lasted all day but I managed it with quick squirts of a homeopathic morning sickness relief spray. It was the exhaustion that nearly killed me. I would just make it home before I collapsed on the couch only to be roused again by the need to pee (which was every 10 fricken minutes).
The nausea changed at 9 weeks to full on throwing up. The throwing up could always be attributed to bingeing – I’d get an uncontrollable urge to eat everything I could see which would satisfy me for about 10 minutes until I’d then get the uncontrollable urge to bring it all up again. I didn’t get much sympathy from nick about this – as if I actually had the choice to eat myself into vomiting or not. Then 12 weeks came and it all settled again (my last regurgitation actually being the water I was instructed to drink for my ultrasound – how pointless, throwing up water!). I’d feel a bit on the queasy side after morning tea but I found that spearmint gum would calm this down. Now at 15 weeks I’m gum free and feeling fine. Apart from this stupid migraine! I actually miss the morning sickness though, just a bit. At least I felt pregnant then. Now I feel kinda nothing. My boobs don’t hurt as much either (although they are still tender enough for the look but don’t touch rule). I can’t wait until I can feel the baby kicking – maybe then it will feel real?
